Next Management Committee Meeting Tuesday 3rd April
March 2007: Removed damaged roof sections from Rope Store
February 2007: Repairing the Junior Classroom floor after it was found to be suffering from wet rot. Floor removed at far end and replaced with sterling board. Old screws ground off and old floor disposed of.
January 2007: Cleaning up the area to the west of the main mast. Moving old name board on the range building. new roof damaged in storm force winds.
December 2006: Quiz night to raise funds held at the Sailing Club
October 2006: The committees fund raising efforts have been rewarded with two major donations to the Range Roof fund. It is hoped to complete the renovation of the roof in the spring of 2007
September 2006: The weir which had been vandalised was reinstated to allow boating to resume on the canal
August 2006: The Committee agreed to repair the roof of "E" Block as it had been leaking badly for some time and had not been repaired for many years. The Committee had quotes in the region of £3,000 so decided to do the work themselves and despite appalling weather Trevor, Albert, Lorelei, Peter and Mick Flew completed the work to a high standard saving £2,000 on the cost of the work!
July 2006; Continuing with routine maintenance plan
June 2006: Maintenance work continues through the summer months with a number of outstanding jobs being tackled
May 2006: The ships company has "painted ship" in readiness for the Annual RN review
April 2006: The units electrical wiring has been brought up to date which has set the unit a target of £8,000 to cover the cost. The path to the new classroom has been completed and a number of jobs have been carried out by the maintenance team. The slipway on the NE corner of the unit has been dug out and can now be used for slipping the ASC and Viking SMB
January 2006: Survey of the Headquarters by Electric contractors
November 2005: Work has commenced on the laying of the power supply and footpath to the juniors classroom. A survey of the buildings and grounds has taken place and a number of repairs have been given priority. The Range has been painted and a number of buildings have been re-pointed. A trench has been dug for the power supply to the junior classroom and a number of jobs are underway from the list drawn up by the survey. Two fundraising events are already arranged for 2006 (see Calendar)
October 2005: The new classroom was lifted in to place on the old boathouse site and the storage container was repositioned. A new path to the classroom is currently under construction.
September 2005: The clearance of the Classroom site was completed and the new junior Classroom was purchased. In addition the buildings most at risk have been re-pointed.
August 2005: Power lines removed, clearance of old boats and brambles ready for the new classroom
October 2004: Rewiring Wardroom, removed facing posts from the jetty due to boat damage. Fitted new mooring rings to jetty
July 2004 : Clearance of jetty construction cofferdam and piling on northern arm
April 2004: Completed Enterprise refit and started on Bosun refits. Installed temporary lighting for the car park and main mast.
March 2004: Refurbishing Galley, new worktops, cupboards, fridge-freezer and cooker. Remove floor covering and replace with ceramic floor tiles. New door to galley fitted.
October 2003 onwards: Repairs to dinghies. Refitted Enterprise sailing dinghy
September 2003: Repairs to Bosun Dinghy and general maintenance including cupboards in boathouse for sails.
August 2003: Completed Dory Refit
July 2003: Refitting Dory and Enterprise Sailing Dinghy
June 2003: Completion on the wiring rewiring took place and new shelving was put up in the office .Bosun refits completed.
May 2003: Committee members ran the galley during the Training weekends held during the month and assisted the Unit staff with boat repairs and maintenance.
April 2003: All three moorings have now been laid in the canal for the recently refitted boats and the eastern end of the jetty has been dredged to allow construction work to commence on the new south east arm.
The Main mast has now been repaired, painted and refitted after suffering damage in the high winds last year and has been raised in to position. A further 40 tons of aggregate has arrived at the Headquarters to extend the car park and this has now been laid and rolled.
March 2003: The Main mast which suffered damage in the High winds during the winter has been moved in to the Boat House for repair and refurbishment
February 2003: The car park has been resurfaced with over 40 tons of aggregate kindly donated by Foster Yeoman Ltd. It is intended to purchase a further 40 tons to complete the work when funds allow
January 2003: Workshop lighting & electrical sockets completed
December 2002: Boathouse and Workshop lighting and power points wired up. A New double glazed unit supplied by "Finesse Windows" and was fitted by a committee member.

April 2002: Re-wiring of the Quarterdeck and classrooms completed, Wiring of the new Boathouse will be completed once the new roof has fitted.
May 2002: The Old drill hall site has been cleared to make way for a new parade ground. Most of May was taken up with preparing the Headquarters for the Annual Inspection including the painting of the Cadets Mess, Quarterdeck and outside steelwork.
June 2002: Repairs to the fence completed and bollards installed on the roadside then painted and fitted with reflective tape. New mooring rings fixed to main jetty.
August 2002: Phase 2 of the jetty to complete, Completion of the Boathouse and fitting out, Re-wiring the Workshop and Re-wiring the rope store. A door has been fitted to the workshop by Southern Total Maintenance Ltd of Minster.
Over the August Bank Holiday weekend progress was made on phase 2 of the jetty as the retaining wall to the north west hand arm was completed. This involved constructing a cofferdam and placing concrete footings on to the bed of the canal followed by the placing of concrete blocks to form the jetty.
September 2002: Steve Spoor of S & S Plumbing Sheerness has refitted the water supply to the new boat house without charge. Work has also continued on the Northern end of the jetty infilling and building the back retaining wall. Steel flashing and foam inserts have been delivered and will be used to complete the work on the boathouse roof
October 2002: The concreting of the northern end of the jetty has been completed. Fitting out of the boat shed has commenced. A concrete base has been put down at the eastern side of the grounds in readiness for the arrival of a 12 pounder gun from Romsey Unit.
November 2002: New wall lights to southern side of the buildings fitted. Quarterdeck and classrooms re-painted. New heaters fitted in the classrooms, Ships Office and wardroom. Wall brackets fitted in the workshop and new boat house. Temporary lighting installed in the boathouse. New fire door fitted to Boathouse.
